Recently Mercy Johnson got married with a lot of drama, intrigues and suspense involved many has expressed their doubts and speculation if such a marriage can last a life time or crash like that of many celebrities in Nigeria. Yes! The marriages of Celebrities in Nigeria has a notorious tendency to crash at any time depending on how soon the “Actors” wants to opt out.

The Celebrities have everything going for them—a huge fan base, popularity, good looks and are also financially okay. They are also very sensational. But their marital life has been a different story all together, some of these unions produced children while some did not, they parted ways with their partners as soon as they find out things are no longer going on smoothly or there is incompatibility problem or in many cases infidelity resulting in scandals.Here are some of the most prominent amongst them:

Ngozi Ezeonu Ngozi Ezeonu is one of the earliest faces to grace the television. Owing to her resourcefulness on set, she clinched many major roles, an act that endeared her to devotees of Nollywood movies. Aside from playing several lead roles, she has clinched many awards in the course of her career. In addition to her exceptional talent, her good looks plus her ability to stay out of scandals increased her reputation.Her scandal free image was almost smeared when news filtered in that she had parted ways with her husband and father of her children for reasons she is yet to make public.

Lola Alao Kogi State born Lola Alao began her career over 10 years ago. Her exploits in the Yoruba movie industry, which have earned her national acclaim, compete favourably with the disreputable stories that have trailed her. A single mother of one, Alao was married to an American based businessman. Her subsequent attempts at re-marrying have not yielded any fruit. suspected to be in relationships with different men at several points in her career, the 40-year-old actress/producer is obviously unfazed by her present state.

Monalisa Chinda Globacom ambassador, Monalisa Chinda parted ways with her husband, Victor Dejo-Richards almost three years ago but not before they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Tamar. The marriage which seemed to be made in heaven was supposedly characterized by physical abuse and tales of infidelity. It was an emotionally bruised Chinda who moved out of her matrimonial home with her daughter to start a` new life. While she is still single, her former husband has since re-married.

Eucharia Anunobi Famously referred to as the ‘Sharon Stone’ of Nollywood, Eucharia Anunobi joined the list of actresses with distressed marriages when her union with Charles Ekwu collapsed like a pack of wrongly stacked cards. The marriage produced a son, Raymond, who suffers from the sickle cell disease and currently resides with the actress. Controversy prone Anunobi is infamous for her weird manners and her once celebrated romance with a younger lover who accompanied her to the Nigeria Music Awards a few years ago.

Stephanie Okereke Sweet faced Stephanie Okereke amazed many of her admirers when her marriage to a millionaire footballer, which was contracted in 2004, was officially dissolved in January 2007.In 2005, her former husband proved to be a fulcrum of support after she sustained burns in a car accident on her way to the African Movie Academy Awards held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.The duo parted ways before the arrival of a child. Okereke is currently engaged to Linus Idahosa.

Kefee Real names Irikefe Obareki, the Branama crooner, was the subject of discussion for a very long time after her marriage to her former husband and manager, Alec Godwin broke down irretrievably .The unpleasant tales that emanated from both parties left a bitter taste in the mouth of her fans. Kefee, as she is affectionately addressed, has obviously put the past behind her while concentrating on her music career which received anenormous boost after her marriage ended.

Saheed Balogun One of the most popular Yoruba actors, Saheed Balogun and his estranged wife, Fathia, who also plies her trade in the make-believe industry, have been at logger heads for many years.The union which was supposedly founded on love took a nose dive amid tales of physical battering and infidelity. All attempts by concerned parties to reconcile the duo have not yielded any fruit while the latter has custody of their two children.
