MOBO awards to hold in October

The popular MOBO Awards has released its nominees list for the 2011 edition of the awards and Nigerian acts, pop star D’banj,Afro beat singer seun Kuti and young new pop sensation Wizkid have been nominated in the “Best African Act” Category.

The list which was revealed on Wednesday,August 31,2011 via the awards website also sees othe African acts like liquid Deep,Cheikh Lo and Owiny sigoma Band nominated in the “best African act” category.

In 2007 , Nigeria pop act 2face Idibia clinched the award and in the following year 9ice picked up the award, both for the same category.

The 16^th edition of the Music of Black Origin MOBO awards will be held in Glasgow,Scotland on Wednesday,October 5,2011 and will be hosted by Jason Derulo and a yet-to-be named female co-host.
