Olisa Adibua Programmes Director, Beat 99.9FM Brutalises Colleague (The complete Story)

I was doing my thing online going through Linda's Blog and many more sites i surf daily, i came across this gist and decided to carry out more research into it .
THE GIST
Olisa Adibua, who is the Programmes Director for Beat 99.9 Fm and Naija FM and an OAP on Beat 99.9 Fm (Morning Rush - every morning Monday - Friday), came back to the office from the industry night event which he attended, found Adewunmi Oyekanmi, who is the night news editor/news presenter at Naija Fm, sleeping on the couch and attacked him.Mr Olisa Adibua was said to have assaulted Adewunmi Oyekanmi with a heavy Object, dealt him several blows on the face , in a serious rage Mr Olisa Adibua ripped off Adewunmi's shirt, smashed his phone and trampled on it after which he kicked him off the premises.the result of the attack is evident in the picture taken by Mr Adewunmi just after the Attack.. This incident occurred on Thursday , 8 th of September. You can imagine the implication of this in the western world , in a system where things work as it ought to be working, devoid of sentiment.
But of course the company Megaletrics The owner of beat and classic FM has done what they had to do to shut Adewunmi up, and i believe the young man is afraid of losing his job. The Ilesha born Adewunmi Oyekanmi , a member of class of 2006 of Lagos State University with a major in History and International relations has released a public statement indicating that he is not going to press charges and that he is satisfied with the way the company has handled the matter "in house" in his statement he wrote
My name is Adewunmi Oyekanmi, news editor with the Beat 99.9 Fm.
An incident occurred at my work place within the early hours of the 8th of Sep 2011 between myself and another member of staff which has been blown out of proportion in the media.

I have been wrongfully quoted in various blogs and magazines, but this will be my first official statement and the last, so please disregard anything you might have seen, heard or read.

The incident in question has been dealt with to my satisfaction by the Management of Megalectrics, operators of The Beat 99.9 Fm, in a swift and conclusive manner.

The member of staff (Mr Olisa Adibua) with whom I had the altercation with, has duly apologized most sincerely and I have accepted, based on the fact that since I started working at the station, my relationship with the said party has always been cordial and friendly.

In reference to a purported conversation between myself and an undercover reporter, I’d like to state categorically that I have never had a phone conversation or granted any interview to any media or reporter.

What transpired was an internal matter which was leaked into the public domain to create division within our corporate entity. I refuse to be used as a pawn or be labelled ‘the voiceless or oppressed’.
Megalectrics, the operators of the beat 99.9fm employed me in the capacity of news editor in July 2010, and ever since I have had no cause to complain about the working environment, my colleagues or superiors.

We operate an open system where everyone is free to speak their minds, regardless of rank of hierarchy.

Once again, I’d like to reiterate that the matter has been resolved and the member of staff has apologized for the altercation we had.

In conclusion, I would like this issue to be extinguished so I can get back to my normal every day life, as the recent publications and rumors circulating have put a strain on my family and private life.

I would like to thank the management and staff of Megalectrics for the swift and decisive response to the matter. I would also like to thank everyone who showed concern. I’d like to reassure you that I am okay and in good health as is confirmed by my attached photo.

These are my final words on the subject.
Thank you very much and God bless.

**************

While it will be an exercise in futility to try to force Adewunmi to press charges in a matter of this nature, especially in a country like ours where cases like Rape and even murder is being settled out of court, Adewunmi who happens to be a peace loving person with Mathma Gandhi as his mentor must have had his bruised lips sealed by whatever means , the act has been done and we know who has committed the act and the whole Nigerian community especially the many fans and listeners to his radio programmes . MrOlisa Adibua has created an impression : a bad reputation in the making, and i have this to say "So much depends of reputation Guard it with your life"Rule five , 48 laws of power. Not everything can be swept under the carpet !! IT IS A SHAME!!!

Beat FM has not seen anything yet .
Nuff said!!

A silver/Gold Nissan Ultima with Registration Number CD674AKD. Do keep an eye out for it and alert us if you see it”

The Car theft Reportedly happened as she stepped out of the car, three unidentified men approached her and one of them placed a gun to her head. she was reportedly pushed into the back seat of the car where she sat with one of the robbers while the other two sat in front.

She said;

I left Opebi,Ikeja,Lagos for Egbeda, where I stay with my mum.I actually bought some things to give to my mum like TV set and some money.

The TV could not get into my boot so I had to put it at the back seat, maybe that was what attracted them.I didn’t even know they were trailing me.As I parked in front of my gate at Egbeda, the next thing I saw were three men pointing guns at me.

They told me to come down and move back. They took me to a quite place and asked me for money. They said,” Look at you,you are buying things”.They actually wanted to kidnap me.They asked me whether the people I know can pay the ransom. They took the money I wanted to give my mother, took my ATM card, they asked for my pin which I gave them at gun point.

They took my phones.I even begged them to give me one of the SIM cards and they gave me the Blackberry SIM card.

Since they took my ATM,they have been withdrawing my money.Over N200,000 has been withdrawn from my Oceanic Bank account. And that’s the issue I want to take up with the bank, because whenever I wanted to withdraw money that is not even up to N200,00,they will give me excuses.

Nigerian celebrities and broken Marriages (Part 2)

Continued from part one

9ice and Toni payne

Oge Okoye An only child, Oge Okoye has had a successful run in the movie industry since she made her debut. She got married to Holland based Stanley Duru in 2006. The marriage since inception had been fraught with controversies including allegations that Duru was married to a white woman prior to him taking Okoye as his life partner.Another situation that set tongues wagging was the fact that the two barely cohabited as man and wife. With Okoye spending more time in Nigeria and London, it was no surprise when it became glaring that the marriage had failed after two kids.

Shan George In addition to being an actress and musician, mulatto beauty, Shan George is notorious for her affiliation with younger men among who was Okey Bakassi. Married twice in the past, her desperate attempts to settle down to matrimony is well known although she has not achieved any tangible success.

Soul E As the fate of his music career hangs in the balance, Emmanuel Okose aka Soul E must be lamenting his sole marriage to Queen Urea Keizer. She is13 years older than him and not a few people were stunned when he made a public pronouncement of his love for the former top banker. Subsequently she became his manager while he quit his former label unceremoniously. The ill fated affair suffered a hitch which caused the duo to look in different directions.

Ngozi Nwosu Fondly called Ije Kpoms, Ngozi Nwosu’s short-lived marriage to a Badagry native lasted only three years before they decided to call it quits. Still unmarried till date, her last marriage was not blessed with the fruit of the womb before it packed up. An old hand in the industry, the star actress made her debut appearance in the film Living in Bondage. Her six-year stint as Peace, in Fuji House of Commotion also earned her immeasurable fame and recognition.

Bukky Wright A mother of two boys, Bukky Wright is another actress who has distinguished herself in the make-believe industry, courtesy of her award-winning acting skills.Famous for her good looks, it was not enough to sustain her marriage which went downhill. Subsequent attempts to re-live matrimony have been met with a brick wall. Not even her well reported romance with Bolaji Basia could provide the much sought-after succour.

This is a continuation of from the first part on broken celebrity marriages in Nigeria mnost especially from Nollywood here we go.

Hilda Dokubo There is no gainsaying Hilda Dokubo was one of the most loved screen goddesses in and out of the industry. She featured in several A-list movies before abandoning the screen for public service.Previously married to Karo Mrakpor, who has since taken a fresh bride, their union was blessed with a child before the Marriage hit the rock.

9ice Abolore Akande aka 9ice’s marriage to Toni Payne was received with a lot of shock as many people were of the opinion that it would rub off negatively on his career. While this proved to be imaginary as his career soared immeasurably, the union did not stand the test of time.Barely two years after the pair promised to be man and wife, they announce their separation. While 9ice has found his rhythm with hisAbuja based beau, who has brought forth twin babies, Payne still has the custody of the only product of the failed marriage, Zion.

Nigerian celebrities and broken Marriages

Recently Mercy Johnson got married with a lot of drama, intrigues and suspense involved many has expressed their doubts and speculation if such a marriage can last a life time or crash like that of many celebrities in Nigeria. Yes! The marriages of Celebrities in Nigeria has a notorious tendency to crash at any time depending on how soon the “Actors” wants to opt out.

The Celebrities have everything going for them—a huge fan base, popularity, good looks and are also financially okay. They are also very sensational. But their marital life has been a different story all together, some of these unions produced children while some did not, they parted ways with their partners as soon as they find out things are no longer going on smoothly or there is incompatibility problem or in many cases infidelity resulting in scandals. Here are some of the most prominent amongst them:

Ngozi Ezeonu Ngozi Ezeonu is one of the earliest faces to grace the television. Owing to her resourcefulness on set, she clinched many major roles, an act that endeared her to devotees of Nollywood movies. Aside from playing several lead roles, she has clinched many awards in the course of her career. In addition to her exceptional talent, her good looks plus her ability to stay out of scandals increased her reputation. Her scandal free image was almost smeared when news filtered in that she had parted ways with her husband and father of her children for reasons she is yet to make public.

Lola Alao Kogi State born Lola Alao began her career over 10 years ago. Her exploits in the Yoruba movie industry, which have earned her national acclaim, compete favourably with the disreputable stories that have trailed her. A single mother of one, Alao was married to an American based businessman. Her subsequent attempts at re-marrying have not yielded any fruit. suspected to be in relationships with different men at several points in her career, the 40-year-old actress/producer is obviously unfazed by her present state.

Monalisa Chinda Globacom ambassador, Monalisa Chinda parted ways with her husband, Victor Dejo-Richards almost three years ago but not before they were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Tamar. The marriage which seemed to be made in heaven was supposedly characterized by physical abuse and tales of infidelity. It was an emotionally bruised Chinda who moved out of her matrimonial home with her daughter to start a` new life. While she is still single, her former husband has since re-married.

Eucharia Anunobi Famously referred to as the ‘Sharon Stone’ of Nollywood, Eucharia Anunobi joined the list of actresses with distressed marriages when her union with Charles Ekwu collapsed like a pack of wrongly stacked cards. The marriage produced a son, Raymond, who suffers from the sickle cell disease and currently resides with the actress. Controversy prone Anunobi is infamous for her weird manners and her once celebrated romance with a younger lover who accompanied her to the Nigeria Music Awards a few years ago.

Stephanie Okereke Sweet faced Stephanie Okereke amazed many of her admirers when her marriage to a millionaire footballer, which was contracted in 2004, was officially dissolved in January 2007.In 2005, her former husband proved to be a fulcrum of support after she sustained burns in a car accident on her way to the African Movie Academy Awards held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The duo parted ways before the arrival of a child. Okereke is currently engaged to Linus Idahosa.

Kefee Real names Irikefe Obareki, the Branama crooner, was the subject of discussion for a very long time after her marriage to her former husband and manager, Alec Godwin broke down irretrievably .The unpleasant tales that emanated from both parties left a bitter taste in the mouth of her fans. Kefee, as she is affectionately addressed, has obviously put the past behind her while concentrating on her music career which received anenormous boost after her marriage ended.

Saheed Balogun One of the most popular Yoruba actors, Saheed Balogun and his estranged wife, Fathia, who also plies her trade in the make-believe industry, have been at logger heads for many years. The union which was supposedly founded on love took a nose dive amid tales of physical battering and infidelity. All attempts by concerned parties to reconcile the duo have not yielded any fruit while the latter has custody of their two children.
