Why Cortana got it wrong in Brazil Vs Netherlands match

 The 2014 World cup match  has come and gone, the intelligent Microsoft software, Cortana predicted a win in favour of Brazil but ALAS!! Netherlands beat Brazil by a 3 goal margin and cortana got it wrong this time after a 14 of 14 consecutive correct prediction in this world cup Final (still very impressive).
i warned my readers in  Last article i wrote on Cortana HERE that i can not put my Money on Brazil.
    Do not be too quick in writing Cortana off especially by not taking her prediction that Germany will defeat Argentina in the Grand finale match serious.  Here are probably some the reasons Cortana got it wrong this time.
1. Cortana's predictions are based on probability after taking a lot of things, factors into consideration, in drawing its conclusion it can not be 100% accurate.
2. some of the factors it considered in picking Brazil to beat Netherlands is the fact that Brazil is on Home turf since home field advantage is also a factor in Cortana's predictions.though she picked  Germany to beat the host earlier.
3. Cortana's prediction was based on assessment of Data  available to her, perhaps she did not consider the fact that that Brazil was too devastated and has probably lost the morale to fight for a third place after a heartbreaking , record breaking 7-1 defeat against the German machines, third place matches referred to as loser's final is very difficult to predict. Netherlands lost against Argentina gallantly while Brazil was completely owned. Big difference!
 Should Cortana be written off now that she got one wrong,  come on she has 14/15 ! fourteen of Fifteen is still incredible enough to believe in Cortana for the last match prediction that Germany will indeed beat Argentina, my money is on the German machines ! Though my money is on Cortana and Germany for the Grand finale , above all Microsoft Cortana should be seen as a guide and not the ultimate oracle as many are now believe, ask Cortana , she will give you her opinion but draw your conclusions and take responsibility for your actions, DON'T BLAME CORTANA !!

 Cortana with 14 of 14 in an unprecedented prediction streak has predicted the winner of the 2014 FIFA world cup ahead of Sunday Final. she has successfully predicted the winners of the last 14 matches  of the world cup in Brazil.
What is Cortana's prediction for the Final game of the world cup? Cortana has now made the prediction for the Final games of the 2014 FIFA world cup. Cortana predicts that Germany will win the 2014 world cup over Argentina and that Brazil will take the third place over Nertherland in the Brazil v Holland third place match.

Once again the Microsoft Cortana prediction that Argentina will  eliminate  Netherlands(Holland) came out correct though the confidence level of the software was low it came out correct eventually , The artificially intelligent personal assistant developed by Microsoft has accurately predicted the winner of the last 14 world cup matches. i am now wondering, where do i buy Cortana, is it available for sale? At least its not going to die of old age like Paul the Octopus, Microsoft plans to lunch the main version of the soft ware towards the end of the year, what is available now is the "test" version BETA . Now that the Grand Finale of the 2014 FIFA world cup is going to be a battle between Germany (European team) and Argentina (South American team)  we are eagerly  awaiting the prediction of our beloved Cortana . Nna men .... no time o. what is Cortana prediction for Germany vs Argentina Final game of the 2014 World cup??   wait let me ask IFA (Cortana).

FIFA Suspends Nigeria (NFF)

Nigeria was suspended from international football on Wednesday because of government interference, FIFA said in a statement.:

The FIFA Emergency Committee has decided today, 9 July 2014, to suspend the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) with immediate effect, on account of government interference. Article 13, par. 1 and article 17, par. 1 of the FIFA Statutes oblige member associations to manage their affairs independently and with no influence from third parties.

The decision follows a letter sent by FIFA to the NFF on 4 July 2014, in which it expressed its great concern after the NFF was served with court proceedings and consequently an order preventing the president of the NFF, the NFF Executive Committee members and the NFF Congress from running the affairs of Nigerian football was granted by a High Court of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The said court order compelled the Nigerian Minister of Sports to appoint a senior member of the civil service to manage the NFF until the matter was heard in court, without giving any date for such a hearing. The authorities then appointed a person who decided to convene an extraordinary general assembly on 5 July 2014. This extraordinary general assembly was convened in violation of the NFF statutes.

Originally, an elective congress had been planned by the NFF to take place on 26 August 2014.

The suspension will be lifted once the court actions have been withdrawn and the properly elected NFF Executive Committee, the NFF general assembly and the NFF administration are able to work without any interference in their affairs.

As a result of this decision, no team from Nigeria of any sort (including clubs) can have any international sporting contact (art. 14 par. 3 of the FIFA Statutes). During the period of suspension, the NFF may not be represented in any regional, continental or international competitions, including at club level, or in friendly matches. The most immediate effect is that Nigeria will not be entitled to participate in the upcoming FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup (5-24 August 2014) should the suspension not be lifted by 15 July 2014.

In addition, neither the NFF nor any of its members or officials may benefit from any FIFA or CAF development programmes, courses or training during the suspension period.

 Since Paul the Octopus the supposedly psychic octopus  who died in 2010 , became a world wide sensation when he made his mark predicting the outcome of Football games correctly predicting the winning team in eight of 2010 world cup matches  including the Final . Cortana is the hero of the moment surpassing  the Octopus, Who is Cortana? What is Cortana?  She has been predicting the result of world cup matches correctly, particularly at the knock out stages,(The prediction features just went live for the world cup's knockout stages she predicted that Germany will edge out Brazil before last night humiliating defeat of the Samba boys (Brazil) !!  The text message/ SMS reads    " Please stop sucking Orange the Nigerian Police have announced this morning that they have confirmed 13 people dead in Lagos and the Orange is spreading fast. please inform others, send this to all your Friends and family if you love them- NPF"     JEEZ !!  That was the text message being circulated and there might be others like it....... well it is possible to poison fruits but is this particular one correct information or just an HOAX and FALSE INFO for the consumption of poor and impressionable Nigerians?

   TEST- I have heard similar rumours and text messages/SMS  in the past.......in  year 2009,  2010 , 2011 respectively talking about poisoned "SUYA" roasted meat, Beans, Vegetables and more. Important questions to ask here is  the message above clams the Nigerian police is responsible for it. that means the police as usual must have issued press release on the subject matter, if that is true then which media house or any other credible source has this "important information?? Nigerian television Authority NTA (to start with), National news papers? Other television houses? even the Nigerian police website does not have it. for crying out loud i have seen captions like " Family of 6 die after eating Amala and Ewedu" in THE PUNCH News paper, how come non of this rumours that fly round in text messages/SMS does not make it to any credible news source and only rely on " please quickly send to others" ??

     This news is incorrect just like the false rumour of the killer telephone number .............It is a Hoax from somebody who knows Nigerians can believe anything even without proof or credible source, perhaps MTN telecommunication company is being too gracious with too many free text/SMS messages of recent and PRANKSTERS just can not resist the urge to spread their HOAX/ Falsehood through SMS....with MTN Nigeria's new SMS freebies.....i have seen many text messages ranging from MTN's celebrating their Birthday, Killer Telephone Numbers by ritualists  (080200226655) and now Killer oranges all ending with please forward to others and get =N= 7500 free credit with the exception of the last one. Only God knows what next is will come up next week if MTN Nigeria continues to give out free TEXT messages. But thank God the MTN SMS Bonus will stop by August 20 hopefully all this pranks will stop till the next MTN Promo     *LOL *   could this be what the   politicians/ leaders are using to enslave the populace.  LIES, LIES and more LIES !!

    The African Zonal Championship (Zone 4.2) was concluded today ! It ended on a very fine note for Nigeria as the Highest rated chess player in Nigeria and reigning National Champion, International Master Bunmi Olape popularly known as the undertaker, completely buried the Highest rated player of the tournament IM Sameh Sadek (ELO 2378) to win the tournament with 7.5 points out of a possible 9 , IM Bunmi Olape was unbeaten through out with 6 wins   and 3 drawn games !! The win means he qualifies to play at the African Championship  and eventually at the Chess world cup!
   The Duo of  BISIRIYU OLUWASEUN and FM KIGIGHA BOMO Both from Nigeria  finished with 6 points, The Fast rising Ugandan FIDE master ELIJAH EMOJONG defeated International master ADU OLADAPO in the Final round of the tournament to also finish on 6 points after an impressive Draw result against  IM Sameh Sadek of Egypt in round 6 and defeating FM Bomo Kigigha of Nigeria in round 7 to put himself in joint second position living up to expectation as analyzed before the start of the event .The Result meant  FM Kigigha Bomo(Nigeria),  Bisiriyu Oluwaseun(Nigeria) and  FM Emojong Elijah (Uganda) has satisfied the 66.6 % minimum requirement for the award of the International master title according to the regulation of the tournament.

African Chess Zone 4.2 Championship - Update after round 5!

  

 The Battle continued in the African ZonalChess championship for Zone 4.2.  today 21st of June was a rest day in what can be conveniently called half way through the tournament. Round four saw the Strong Nigerian FIDE Master BOMO KIGIGHA  sharing the point with the higher rated  Egyptian International master  Sameh Sadek , Biririyu Oluwaseun (Nigeria) crushed his Sudanese opponent Elnasri Mohammed, Emojong Elijah of Uganda was able to defeat Emmanuel Maduagwana of Nigeria however in Round 5  Ochuko Onovughe (Nigeria) was able to make a strong statement for Nigerian chess by defeating the Ugandan , IM Oladapo Adu lost to IM Sameh Sadek,  Bisiriyu Oluwaseun (Nigeria) crushed Kwado Bonsu of Ghana who has failed to lost all his games so far in the event. the Nigerians are indeed up to the task and the challenge ahead of the last four games of the tournament.

What are the chances of the players in the open category with four games to go?  From the strength  of the opposition, i believe without being sentimental that FM Bomo Kigigha has the odds in his favor making him the number one favorite  to clinch the IM title though his most tricky opponent remains the Ugandan Emojong Elijah who also has two International masters on his path to worry about , the next person with  favorable odds in his favor  is Onovughe Ochuko     who's major opponent is the Egyptian International master Sameh Sadek , but Ochuko is best known as " the IM slayer"  lets hope he shocks the IM.  The next is line is Bisiriyu Oluwaseun (Nigeria) who at worst should be able to clinch an FM title. then the last here is the Ugandan FM  Emojong Elijah not because he is not a fantastic player but because of the pedigree of his would be opponents in the last four games,  he has to overcome a stiffer opposition than his Nigerian counterparts to prove his worth for glory !! The last four rounds promises to be even more explosive !!

i am not so impressed as the minimum number of Countries required for FIDE titles to be awarded is not presented as only three countries Nigeria (5 participants) Egypt (1) and Uganda (1) as against the minimum of five countries required to guarantee FIDE titles under the regulations, though the ladies can take solace in the fact that they still have a chance to qualify for the world cup and also to improve on their FIDE rating. it has been a good tournament for the ladies with the duo of  Shrook Wafa of Egypt and Namaganda Cristine of Uganda tying for the lead on 4 points while following closely are Tobi Olatunji (Nigeria) 3.5, Asanga Nsisong (Nigeria ) 3.5, Dappa-Edward Rachael (Nigeria) 3.5
