The NBC has placed a ban on D'banj's 'Oliver Twist' because of lewd lyrics, apparently NBC has instructed all media houses not to play 'Oliver Twist' henceforth.Don Jazzy CEO of Mohits in a swift reaction on twitter has this to say

Yes boss I heard over Twitter about that. Oh well they have banned it because they have the power to do so. Let’s see how they stop people from hearing it elsewhere. The truth is that the person that banned this song will hear this song till he is sick of it. He will hear it at almost every party he goes to. He will hear it from the cars that will drive pass him. He will hum the melody even in his sleep. He’ll probably record his own version of the Oliver video sef lol. He is doing his job so let’s allow him exercise his power. It’s allowed. I do not really see what is so terrible or bad about the lyric above that warrants a ban from NBC , i doubt if NBC actually listens to the music the put on their ban List perhaps its because D'banjs' song is a hit that is why they notice it, there are tracks in the market with terrible lyrics with NBC doing nothing about them.a few weeks ago that Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) banned 2Shortz's single 'supermandead'just because he mentioned alomo in it (Alomo Bitters for christ sakes) Haba NBC!! It is really a shame. Whats your take on this??

Boko Haram School of Suicide Bombing

The Bombing of the UN (United Nations) building on Friday is still fresh in our memory it was a case of suicide bombing , when Farouk AbdulMutallab made an attempt to bomb a plane in the United states and Nigeria was put on the "Terrorism" list by the United states Nigerians were quick to defend our dear nation and the then Minister for Information, Madam Dora Akinyuli quickly called a press conference to re affirm that Nigeria is a great nation filled with Good people. before then there are no reported cases of suicide bombing involving Nigerians. The October 1st 2010 (independence day )bomb attack went with no one brought to book, Nigeria was welcomed into year 2011 with Bomb blasts in parts of the country. The bombing of the police headquarters in Abuja was the first case of suicide bombing i can recall within the shores of Nigeria.
The federal government has since attempted to solve the Boko Haram problem by heavy Military presence using the so called Joint task force (JTF), which has proved to be ineffective , in my opinion the JTF uses much brute force with little intelligence , much like shooting without aiming.
The recent Bombing of the United Nations Building by yet another Suicide bomber is an incident too many and it appears Boko haram a terrorist group which has since claimed responsibility for the attack are getting stronger, intelligence report suggested they have strong ties with
Al-Qaeda an international terrorist group.
One of the reasons given by "Boko Haram" is the insincerity of the Nigerian Government in Dialoging with them and they are demanding that all their men in Custody/detention all over the country must be released with immediate effect.
Taking a leaf from Western Countries which have had decades of encounters with Terrorism and more advance and organized suicide bombing and attacks, A serious or capable Government will NEVER engage in any form of Dialogue with Terrorists and this i believe is based on experience. How do you give amnesty to Religious fundamentalists without accepting their faith and bowing to their demands and dictates?
It seems a lot of training has gone into "Boko haram's school of Suicide Bombing
and i see a lot of people describe members of the sect as illiterates on online forums but i will not be surprised if there are many of them with the western Education which their group claim to be fighting against, although this is only a theory there may be many of the likes of Farouk AbdulMutallab out there giving instructions and lectures to "terrorists in training" in Nigeria suicide Bombers don’t just become suicidal in one day it is a rigorous training process.
The next set of suicide Bombers from Boko Haram are in training some where in Nigeria, waiting and planning to strike again and i wonder what the military intelligence and the Nigerian state secret service are doing about this?

Brila FM 88.9. vibrant Sports journalist Jibola Oni dies at 27

Jibola Oni, The enterprising young journalist died at the age of 27 on Monday in his home town in Ekiti State. The sudden death of the jounalist occured as a result of the effects of hepatitis B – a disease of the liver. The late Mr. Ajibola Oni (AKA Lukas Podolski) who was barely 27 years of age has been described as versatile and enterprising young journalist that has been excellent in the pursuit of his carrer.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) earlier sent a condolence letter signed by acting general secretary, Barrister Musa Amadu to the management and staff of the Brila FM 88.9 radio station as well as the family of the departed young man.

Footballer John Mikel Obi's Father found alive in !!

The kidnapped father of Chelsea football club midfielder John Obi Mikel was freed on Monday after detectives traced him to a Kano in northern Nigeria and arrested his abductors, the police commissioner announced Monday.
“a suspect led police to the house where Obi was being held. Obi was rescued and six suspects were arrested, five men and a woman,” Kano state police commissioner Ibrahim Idris told journalists, speaking of Michael Obi. “Obi is here with us as you can see.”
Michael Obi was kidnapped on August 12 while on his way home from work in the central Nigerian city of Jos. No ransom was paid, Idris said.
The initial gossip around town was that some members of Obi's family wants a share of Mikel Obi's wealth and decided to kidnap his father to achieve this aim.... like i said that was just a rumour, but then the suspects arrested from the raid should be quized to acertain wether there was complicity of a family relation or close associate of the Family that could have orchestrated the kidnap,i hope the Nigerian Police will conduct an effective investigation this time.

Mercy Johnson plans to go ahead with wedding this saturday against all odds!!

In spite of all the intrigues sorrounding Mercy Johnson's Fiance , the shock and the revelation that her "groom" Husband to be is legally married abroad with two kids, the Nigerian "Nollywood" actress appears to have decided to go ahead with the wedding this weekend August 27 at Christ Embassy INT.

Question for the Men - Good food or Good in Bed ?

Like a Yoruba saying goes Olobe lo l'oko meaning "the good cook is the best wife"
Guys, which do you prefer a wife/ lady or Woman that is very good in bed but very bad at cooking ? or one that is very good in the the kitchen but terrible in bed? personally the average man will be tempted to say "BOTH" but most will say they prefer the good sex and that the lady can always learn to cook, they get a chef/cook or they eat out..hmmm at least that is preferable to expressing preference for a lady that is a good cook and looking for the sex elsewhere (Outside).
like the saying goes, the path to a man's heart is his stomach .....does this apply to Nigerian men? but if you must chose one which will that be?
