Former NBA President, Okey Wali Kidnapped In Port Harcourt

The immediate past president of the Nigerian Bar Association Okey Wali, SAN was reported to have been kidnapped about 9 P.M on 11th of October 2014, Saturday Night by unknown persons in Port Harcourt.

The Nigerian Bar Association  NBA   disclosed this in a press statement Saturday, signed by its incumbent president, Mr. Augustine Alegeh (SAN)
“Okey Wali SAN is a man of peace who has not only contributed immensely to the enthronement of rule of law and protection of human rights, but also to the development of our Nation”, the NBA said.
“It is therefore saddening that he should become a kidnap victim. This sad event is yet another reminder of the state of insecurity in which all Nigerians live.
“The NBA calls on the Federal Government to step up efforts to fulfil its primary constitutional role of providing for the welfare and security of all Nigerians. We passionately appeal to his abductors for his immediate and safe release to his family”.

Mr Wali, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and an indigene of  River state was NBA president from 2012 to July 2014

Flavour Nabania Dropped From Caribbean Music Festival Over Fears Of Ebola

Nigerian singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist and performer Flavour N'abania (Birth name - Chinedu Izuchukwu Okoli) has been dropped from the 18th edition of the World Creole Music Festival which scheduled to take place in the Caribbean island of Dominica over fears of Ebola Virus outbreak in West African region. The announcement was made by their Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit who revealed that his decision is final. The musician who is supposed to have performed on October 25th has lost a lot of money due to his exclusion from the concert.
The musician's picture which was on the music festival's website has equally been removed.

The Prime Minister said he is not prepared to embrace the visit of people from regions with Ebola....

“Until a firm grip is secured on this Ebola virus, the world has to pay special attention to region of its predominance.”

“West Africa, as I said previously, is once such region. I have reviewed the file with respect to the contractual arrangements entered into with the Flavour band out of Nigeria. To date a total of EC$147,000 has been expended on professional fees and international travel by this group.”
“Indeed, I would love if, by this time next year, the Ebola virus could have been brought under control, if not eradicated; regions around the world cleared of the threat of the virus, and entertainers, such as Flavour, could visit and perform in Dominica.”

“But, for the time being, I have advised the organizers of the World Creole Music Festival that the Government of Dominica would not be prepared at this time to sponsor or embrace the visit of persons from a universally recognized Zone One area of the dreaded Ebola virus.”

“Fellow Dominicans and friends, this is the decision of the Government! It is final!”

SHOCKING:St. Louis Nursery/Primary School Akure Sacks 30 Teachers for writing TESCOM Examination

The Management /Proprietress of St. Louis Nursery/Primary School  Ondo Road
Akure, Ondo State terminated the appointment of thirty teachers for seeking permission to take part in the recent Ondo State Teaching Service Commission (ONDOTESCOM) recruitment for 2014  which took place on the 30th of September 2014.
According to a reliable source , the affected teachers sort for permission from the  Reverend Sister who was the head teacher of the school before proceeding to write the TESCOM Examination , The teachers got the Text messages inviting them for the examination at different times (in Batches) hence they sort permission from the head teacher (in batches) , when the head teacher noticed that a substantial number of Teachers were being invited, she called an emergency meeting informing the other teachers that they do not need to inform her as she has noticed that they are also likely to be invited and that they "may" all go and write the examination, This prompted the other teachers to go for the TESCOM examination without any premonition of what was about to befall them.
On the 10th of October 2014, 30 Teachers of  St. Louis Nursery/Primary School  Ondo Road
Akure, Ondo State were handed a letter stating that their appointment have been terminated taking effect from the 1st day of October and that one Salary will be payed to them in lieu of Notice of termination of appointment. This came as a rude shock to the teachers as they were at no time warned ot told not to go for the TESCOM examination which to most of them is not fair to them as they were made to believe that they have the express permission of the head teacher. Reverend sister cicilia
If the above is the actual picture i am inclined to believe that the action of the school authority is very UNFAIR to say the least, a stern warning would have been sufficient except of course the school authority has been looking for a way to lay off  the workers as Akinov's blog has it on reliable information that the school wasted no time in inviting as many as 130 applicants for an interview to fill up the vacuum left by the sacked teachers. Efforts is still been made to get comments from the school management of the issue. meanwhile 30 Teachers are left unemployed, thrown back  into the labour market  in search for a new job , some of these teachers have dependents to cater for. There is God o.

Google Restores www.lindaIkeji.blogspot.com on blogspot.com

Google has restored the blog at www.lindaikeji.blogspot.com owned by ace blogger Linda Ikeji barely 24 hours after it was removed for alleged breach of Google's terms  and Conditions of service.
Which is some kind of record as it usually take longer for Google to  do that .
This is a welcome development as most of her fans are very happy that Lind's blog is back online.
However it seems plausible for Linda to continue with the Domain on blogspot as its not an easy task to  build a website from the scratch and hit number 10  and become number one blogger in Nigeria overnight. its pretty difficult to simply decide to let go what you have slaved and labored for over the past eight years. Whichever way i honestly believe this little set back has done more good than harm to Linda as her follower ship  on Twitter went from 417 , 000 to 418,000 withing 24 hours and the publicity generated for Linda has turned out to be something positive.
Finally for me as a blogger , perhaps it is  time i took my blogging passion to a new height on akinov.com .  keep calm and enjoy this blog. cheers.

Linda ikeji Bounces back , 3 reasons why she will be many times stronger !!

It is no longer news that the blog at lindaikeji.blogspot.com  was removed by Google  because  the blog was found to violate Blogger’s policies or our Terms of Service . It was alleged by some Cyber squatters  that the ace blogger Miss linda ikeji infringed on someone else's copyright , subsequently the site was taken down by Google, anyway i do not intend to bore you with what is already trending all over the internet. i would like to concentrate on the positive side in this post though there are lessons for nigerian bloggers to learn concerning the issues of copyright Blah blah blah  i am a Lawyer by profession and will educate my readers (especially those who want to go into blogging or are already blogging )on that in subsequent posts.
The real gist of this post is that LIND IKEJI  has bounced back and can now be found on www.lindaijejionline.com !in fact the site is already ranked  3,384 in Nigeria on alexa ranking. even though it is yet to be published and is at a maintenance stage.  here is why the taken down of ikeji blog is a blessing in disguise and i will give you three reasons why Linda will come back stronger.
1. The greatest asset of Linda ikeji is not the blog that Blogger has taken down at lindaikeji.blogspot.com but the name LINDA IKEJI. the PERSONALITY is her greatest asset  , she can leverage on that and become number one again within a few weeks of her coming back  with the new website !!  she has got 417,000 + followers on twitter alone and can easily leverage on her teeming supporters and followers on the social media to  move up the google ladder in no time.
2. The way and manner she left blogger made it sensational. many have blamed her for not voluntarily moving away from blogger before now to buy her own domain name and self host her weblog , i beg to disagree with this point of view. If Linda has done that , the publicity would not have been this much, now everybody wants to see how Linda's new website is going to look like after the setback
3. Linda must had learnt one or two lessons about the copyright rules and should be more careful next time. the implication of this is that she  will be coming back as a better blogger with higher standard armed with more experience.

Like i said earlier everything happens for a reason, this has also been a good lesson to many upcoming blogger especially from Nigeria , i am so eager to see her back fully on www.lindaikejionline.com and one more thing she has not given the dirty cyber squatters a dime for all her names they have registered with the hope that she would one day buy her own name from them. they can keep the name for eternity , it is not just the name but the person behind the name . Personally i am inspired . watch out for www.akinov.com  lets build this blogging empire together. we are one big family. we welcome your comments.
